Support Our Locally Owned Pet Shop with Your Order of Cat Food for Cats
How do you know your cat is getting the nutrition they really need? You're bombarded with cat food commercials, each stating that their product is better than the others. EFC Equipment Feed & Pet in Richland, WA can help reduce the confusion. We carry a wide range of cat foods and can assist you in selecting the one that is right for your precious pet.
Your cat is a hunter, descended from a long line of hunters. Wild cats naturally ate a wide selection of nutritious food, based upon what they could snag. But your domestic cat counts on you to feed them. EFC Equipment Feed & Pet has all the foods that will keep them happy and healthy.
What Nutrients Does Your Cat Need?
For starters, your cat is a carnivore. They require meat in some form. This can be chicken, beef, lamb, fish, or eggs. They need fats to provide energy and help absorb vitamins like A, D, B1, B2, B3, and B6. Also, some cat foods include carbohydrates, which are digestible and provide energy.
Reading a Cat Food Label
Cat food companies are required to put certain information on their labels, such as ingredients in descending order of weight, and guaranteed analysis, which tells you the minimum and maximum amount of nutrients like fats, protein, and fiber.
Learn about food descriptions. There's a distinction between "chicken cat food" and "cat food with chicken." Chicken cat food must be 95 percent chicken, while cat food with chicken can have as little as 3 percent. Food described as "chicken dinner" (or chicken formula) can be anywhere between 25 and 95 percent chicken.
Labels have feeding instructions, but they're a guideline and not a "one size fits all." Your vet's recommendations takes priority.
Look for the nutritional adequacy statement, which reveals whether the food is intended for an adult cat or a kitten.

Had a great experience with them setting me up with a TYM tractor. On top of being easy to work with, they had tractors in stock that no one else had.
This place is wonderful. I was looking for my dogs regular food and they were SO helpful. Even gave me a bunch of samples. Found my dog supplies place.
Will definitely be back here again!
Really great place the whole staff is ready to answer questions and help you find what you need, I pass about 4 other feed and pet stores on my way over there because I know that I can count on EFC having what I need.
Love this place! The people are super friendly and very knowledgeable. The prices are great and there's a cute cat that sits on the tractor inside. Definitely a good place to go for all your pets needs and to support a local business. 😊
